On Saturday & Sunday, February 2nd & 3rd, 2019, at Seattle Public Library, join SGS and our partners for a weekend of learning about how to research Japanese American ancestry. The all-day session on Saturday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, "Exploring Our Nikkei Genealogy", is geared toward entry level family historians who have friends or family with Japanese ancestry. Box lunch will be available by pre-order until Jan. 18, 2019. Those who attend this session are invited to return Sunday afternoon, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm for "Ask a Genealogist".
The morning session on Sunday, February 3, 9:00 am - 12:00 noon, "Japanese American Research for Genealogists", is designed for intermediate and advanced researchers who are unfamiliar with these records or this culture. All topics from Saturday will be covered, but at a faster pace. Genealogists who attend this session will volunteer their research skills during the afternoon "Ask a Genealogist".
